Just got hit with a DMCA notice. Which VPN is the best one to use? I know there are some VPN that says that they don't track or keep a log on your data, but some do. Which do you recommend which VPN is honest and the best one?

Edit: Based off of your guys recommendation, I have decided to buy Mullvad. Thank you so much for the recommendation. The fact that there is no username, phone number, email, etc really says a lot about their company. $5 a month is such a good deal and a much better price than Nord or SurfShark and all them other ones.

I would recommend reading the wiki listed in the sidebar for more info on various options. I’m sure you will find one that meets your needs at an affordable price. If you want a personal opinion, I have used Mullvad for several years. They don’t keep any logs, are based outside of the US, and very importantly have port forwarding avaliable, which since I’m assuming you’re going to be using this VPN for P2P, is essential.

Mullvad. They only give you an account #, no personal info and you can even pay in cash.

After a year of NordVPN I decided to give Mullvad a try and I must say I’m pretty impressed. It’s solid, fast and efficient.

Maybe this will help clarify…

One of the features you should consider in selecting a VPN vendor is “zero logging”. The VPN vendor does not retain any history on the association between a user and IP address.

Which VPN service were you using?

I am in the same boat as you are right now! Been downloading shit since middle school & just now got one notice. Started panicking and freaking out (esp my mom) I’m going with mullvad as well after research all around reddit! Thanks so much for your post

Mullvad doesn’t have annual discounts.

Mullvad and ivpn are good, you don’t need port forwarding for torrents although it is nice if you wish to seed/upload faster but for downloading it’s really not that different. You can get mullvad for 60 bucks a year or ivpn standard for 60 bucks.

Can I ask you a question?

If Mullvad can give discounted price for longer subscription, I definitely give it a shot. $5/month for me is at a high-side. With PIA now since they are cheaper…

Anybody encounter Mulvad having promo due to Black Friday or something?

How in da hell u pay with cash?!?? Go to ur nearest publix or something

I JUST switched a few days ago…I was with Nord for three years and that damn kill switch failed a few times on me! I’m so glad for the added security with Mullvad!

All of them say that and the top vpns already do that, the market is very saturated with quality vpns nowadays so it more comes down to what more does the company behind the vpn do in terms of transparency and activism (sponsoring and donating to companies that fight against censorship, i know IVPN does that, that’s why I assume they charge extra).

That’s funny that you ask that. I have been using TigerVPN since they were the only one that offered VPN in Osaka, Japan and all the other VPN companies only had Tokyo. TigerVPN abandoned and ran away without a word or tweet or update or anything. Their last tweet on Twitter was like 2019 and then deleted their Twitter account. But for some reason, I am still able to use the VPN even today, and I don’t get charged monthly like I used to back in early 2019. It stopped charging me February 2019 and have been using this VPN service even today. My IP address shows up in Osaka and after a few years of them disappearing, their service still worked, so I never switched. However, their service today is extremely slow. I have 1000Mbps without VPN, and with TigerVPN I get about 10Mbps…

Sorry if this is so long, but I stopped using TigerVPN for torrents and stuff since the downloads are really slow, and I have a gig download speed, I wanted to utilize that for downloads when I torrented, and just didn’t care much about paying for another VPN service since I already had one that was essentially free since I haven’t been charged for a few years. But when I get hit with that DMCA notice, kinda scared me into buying a legit VPN service hence the post lol

Hey it’s definitely me pleasure. I’m glad I can help others.

No, their price is locked in all the time. Never a deal. They don’t need to. Their reputation brings a lot of people in.

From what i see and am told no they do not as have no need as have a loyal following so dont feel the need for discounts but we shall see.

Fold it in 2 pieces of paper like a document and mail it or put it in a box. I’ve done over thousands of miles tons of time. They take all forms of payment including cards, cash and bitcoin. Cash and bitcoin being the best for anonymity.
