[iOS 18.0 PB3] VPN icon doesn’t disappear after turning it off
Problem still exists on RC
Yep I’ve been having this issue with IOS18DB5 on iPhone 14P. It takes a phone restart for the vpn icon to go away. When I turn the vpn off it turns off, the icon just remains there.
I love Weyes Blood
Interesting. I am seeing essentially the opposite behavior on my 13 Pro… when I turn on the VPN the VPN icon appears. But it goes away a couple seconds later with the VPN remaining connected. IOW, after those first couple seconds, there is NO onscreen indication that the VPN is connected. This has been consistent during all 18.* betas and I have been (incorrectly?) assuming it is intended behavior? ??
any update on this? I am facing the same issue and I am ln PB6
Still got this problem currently on retail, really hope Apple fixes it, it’s really annoying
My icon disappears as it should. 14P.
I have this same issue on iOS 17.5.1 on my 15 Pro. Was the same on the 18 DB1-2 until I reverted due to my phone becoming bricked.
Just updated to 18 last night. Sane issue. 13.
13 mini ios 18, same issue.
PS: I didn’t have this problem on ios 17
If the problem is that annoying green padlock icon being stuck, I did notice you can make it go away by clearing the alert about it from the Home Screen. iOS 18 sucks.
Still there on 18.0.1
Still an issue in stable
Even the released version in 18.0 and 18.0.1 has this issue.
Years later on ipad I can finally get into wifi networks thru drop down n not hv to go thru settings. Today, vpn icon never goes away. W Ipad u just can’t hv everything.
I have this same problem on iPadOS 18.1 Beta
as of now it seems the only solution is to just reboot. can try hard rebooting (press volume up, followed by volume down very quickly after, then hold power button until phone reboots and you see apple logo) if regular restarting doesn’t work
Still an issue, I hope Apple are reading this
Pretty sure this has been a bug for years. I had this issue on my 12 and now on my 15. Seems like they aren’t too concerned about it, but maybe we’ll have some luck in 2025! Thought maybe with it being a problem for this long, they surely would have fixed it by now. I guess not
