We don’t get as many addons thanks to preexisting agreements companies have and also thanks to the CRTC.
The HULU portion of Disney+ gets full SEASONS of shows DAY 1 at times(Life and Beth) we get a trickle of episodes, sometimes without even knowing what day we’ll see that episode.
Dopesick was a complete joke, weeks nearing the end of the series HULU USA run we finally started getting a few episodes.
Weather it’s Disney’s fault or CRTCs fault or preexisting agreements companies have, overall it’s up to Disney to make Disney+ Canada actually valuable.
We don’t have Season 3 episodes of Altana, the season started in March.
We still don’t have Season 2 of Dave which ended AUGUST of 2021…
There are so many aspects of Disney Plus Canada that is AWFUL.
It’s really not worth the money they’re charging in Canada.
We should get a reduced rate, OR a better service.
Hulu US version has been stripped down over the last few years just an fyi . Disney Plus Canada is better than netflix but needs to be offered at a lower price. Rotate through services.
It’s like that for Disney+ subscribers around the world, Disney is still focused on the US schedule, the rest of the world gets stuff later. It sucks but even before Disney+, here in the UK, we rarely got things at the same time and had to wait months.
I don’t know how anybody could be disappointed with the variety of content. By the time I actually get through everything I want to watch then there’ll be more things to watch
I currently have Netflix, HBO Max, and the Disney+ Bundle and a VPN service.
The price I pay for the bundle (about 24USD a month not including the cost of VPN) vs what I would pay just for Star Disney+ … it makes Canadian Disney+ totally worth it. But for me the marvel and Star Wars content is more than enough. The Pixar and Disney movies for kids is bonus for my family. Hulu is not really adding a lot of value as I find network TV and some of the Hulu originals not doing it for me. I don’t think the Canadian subscription price needs to come down given the bundle in the states is so much more but at least for me no equivalent value added.
HBO Max is a game changer vs Crave. HBO Max is like 24 CAD a month when converted and has way more content than Crave. If anything you should be complaining about what you pay for crave over when comparing to HBO Max.
Netflix for 18.99 CAD is totally the least value in my opinion. Their content is borderline cheesy (Netflix originals vs Hulu originals vs MAX originals vs even Apple TV+ exclusives) and lower rate production value. When it comes to production value their content seems like a recycling bin of Hollywood big budget rejects. Admittedly like I said above I love my Marvel and Star Wars and DC content coming in my other streaming platforms so Netflix is now just a “collector” of remaining franchises or licenses. On top; with their plan to clamp down on login sharing by logging IPs and charging for IPs not in same household… that will lead me to cancel.
Also as a note, Peacock and Paramount+ are good for getting day1 seasons of reality tv. I usually subscribe those for a few months of the year for the kids. And with the Warner Discovery Merger it will be interesting if HBOMax gets even more content (kicking Crave to the curb completely)
It’s irritating we get just a portion of fx series’. They have some of the best shows on tv and we’re missing multiple seasons on shows. They only have season 1 of dave and about half of the always sunny series. it is fucking annoying getting into a series and then being cut off of it even though there’s more available but not here. Bring hulu to Canada already.
I am getting frustrated with as it was put the US schedule and media rights bs finding shows and movies you can’t watch, because they can’t be bothered to host a truly Canadian version of the site. my current example dancing with the stars.
Tbh I don’t use VPNs but yes this it’s so easy to get everything the US and even what other countries have nowadays without having to pirate anything yet people for some reason don’t even try and just complain. Like I can get 95% of the US content legally in Canada and the other 5% there’s always the VPN option
You subscribing to Canadian or American Paramount+? I’ve tried the Canadian one and it’s got a whole lotta nothing! I might subscribe to the US one if content is decent
