I’ve been using “Opera”(that’s literally the name on the app store) for a while now, and it says it’s with a vpn and an ai but I’ve never seen the Ai option let alone the other features such as page zoom and being able to add tabs of the same site together, why is this? And how do I fix it today I tried to install the opera internet browser for which I got an ad from “MrWho’sTheBoss” but even that doesn’t work because there’s nothing on the iOS IPad that’ll let you “run” it
The bigger issue to me is the inability to sync information from the browser version to the mobile version and vice versa. Seems like such an obvious move (considering Opera already has the ability to sync between different computers using your Opera account) that is impossible to my knowledge.
Thank god I found this thread, I thought it was just me. The iOS app will not sync and won’t get passed the verification BS trying to login. Been trying for weeks.
On iOS on an iPhone in Opera, tap the menu button (the horizontal lines) at the bottom right and then tap to enable VPN. Or, tap the menu button and goto settings. You’ll see the VPN settings there.
Also in settings look for Aria Browser AI and enable the menu shortcut for it and the Google suggestions if you want. Then when you tap the menu button, you can tap Aria to get started with it.
As for zooming, you can pinch to zoom on a web page. I don’t think there’s anything more than that.
being able to add tabs of the same site together
Don’t know anything about that unless that’s something you do can only on an iPad.
Yeah basically stuff like this, and I have no clue why it happens too, the system is already developed just implement it, but no
I use Flow as the next best solution - that way I can share important links between my PC, iPhone and MacBook whenever I want to. Not as good as syncing obviously, but better than nothing.
For the last point, I’m referring to “tab islands in opera one”, introduced around 4-6 months ago, also im opera browser, there is no “aria browser ai” and also, this doesn’t factor any of the other factors such as, being able to have custom sound effects everytime you type, there’s like 6 different features that the ios app doesnt have, including page zoom, it’s on brave, but on brave there isn’t the option to have custom wallpapers and this pattern is with every browser app too, either page zoom or custom wallpapers or none, except safari which has it all for some reason
i had to switch to Edge, it has similar functionality and it works on all versions of the browser for all OS’s
I’ll check it out, thanks for the recommendation!
Sorry I don’t ever use VPN or AI but I do see the buttons for both in the settings.
I do use the ad blocker though which seems to work for one website that used to have an ad popping up every time I went on it without the blocker.
I only started using Opera on iOS very recently, mainly because of the Flow.
so that implies that you still used opera, but not on ios, in that case, you may have also noticed the extra features the browser versioj has that the opera app for ios does not
I mainly use Opera on PC and recently started using it on iOS as well just so I can sync stuff between the two which is how I found out that the iOS version is definitely lacking compared to PC. I use Flow as a kind of workaround for syncing between the two.
fuckin’ apple, it’s probably their smutty hands again stopping the browser’s devs to fully implement something, I don’t remember the source but I remember someone saying apple doesn’t allow a browser(other than theirs) to have page zoom and wallpaper change
Yeah it’s quite possible unfortunately
