What's the point of asking me to not turn my VPN on?

Well there’s that app that offers me getting coins by playing some games or doing quizzes or filling a questionnaire … the weird part is Im not allowed to turn my VPN on and the prizes are so questionable lmao

Most likely because they make money on ad-impressions, and whoever is serving those ads will flag you as a bot if you run through a VPN.

If at any point you need to deposit money gtfo, those are called task scams and you’ll never be able to collect and will be out any money that you do deposit.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone converse in base-64

I agree, but within the scope of the topic. This post doesn’t really even tangentially fit and doesn’t provide much, if anything, for someone to dig into and find a teachable moment from.

Using this search term, I was able to get a relevant snippet:

“why dont apps want me to use a vpn”

Chill man… it’s just easier and quicker and more specific for my situation.

It’s really not, though. It’s not any of those things.

It’s not only more litter to wade through actually trying to help someone or find something interesting, it goes against like every bullet point of the “hacking” mindset.

Do a quick Google search, find some topics to explore a bit further, get a better understanding of the technologies used, and then come back with an actual articulated question.

I’m all for an evolving internet culture (because it can’t be stopped anyway), and I’m not yelling at clouds telling you to get off my lawn, but you’re contributing to the enshitification of an already pretty shit sub, and its likely you’re doing it elsewhere as well.

There’s nothing related to hacking in your post. There’s no relevant conversation to be made.

It’s an irrelevant shitpost, with probably the dumbest justification I’ve come across. Has anyone here learned anything from this?

“I” learned something from this :raised_hand:t6::laughing:, actually I don’t think it matters that much if whether this topic is related directly to hacking or not. I know what’s hacking and what kind of people would be interested in learning it, that’s exactly my point … they’re generally interested in cyber security stuff … and since VPN is related to cs … then there’s a high chance that I could find people that knows about my question.

I thought about asking this question at another place … but lol as what you see it’s not a big and important qs anyways… it’s just a quick question I posted and didn’t think much about.
I respect your opinion about my post; otherwise, if you’re just trying to argue about absolutely nothing like a retired person, please go sleep grandpa.

Congratulations, or I’m sorry that happened to you. I’m not finna decipher all that. It looks like the point you’re making is that you’re a bit retarded, and in that case I’m sorry to have poked fun at you.
