Is there a difference in download speed when you use one VPN location as supposed to another? Does it depend on where the seeders are? Mine are literally downloading at 3kb/s rendering it essentially impossible to use…
P.S. I only recently started torrenting so any answer is good enough lol
Yes if adds different amounts of latency depending on how physically far away a server is. This depends on your location. If you live in the US and connect to a Canadian server then that will add latency but it won’t be noticable. However connecting to a server in the UAE will have much more latency.
Do you have a port forwarded with your VPN?
Yea, apparently so, but it still sucks… for some torrents. Other ones work. Does that happen to you?
It’s very subjective. If it’s only some torrents you can chock that up to slow seeders, not enough seeders, etc. If you try some big and popular torrents like Linux distro images and the you still get extremely slow performance then you might want to reexamine your config. If not, than everything is as it should be.
Could try finding alternative trackers of the same file/s to see if those have more seeders or faster ones.
