VPN blocked by network firewall

When I try to connect to any server in the vpn, it fails to connect because my networks firewall blocks it. How can I get past this so I can use my VPN?

Try using the tcp 443 configs. They shouldn’t get blocked if the domain isn’t blocked.

If neither TCP or UDP work, then either the domain is blocked, your network operates a whitelist or they are blocking OpenVPN via Deep Packet Inspection.

If the former is true, your screwed. If the latter is true, your also screwed because ProtonVPN offers no traffic obfuscation.

Other providers offer obfuscation and are able to get past pesky firewalls. If your regularly dealing with these types of blocks or its on a network you frequently use i would highly recommend switching to another provider.

Proton VPN has the stealth protocol. Stealth disguises traffic as https traffic. Stealth is a type of obfuscation. Also use alternative routing to route it through a third party network.

How do you use the tcp 443 configs?

What Software are you using?

On Windows, go to Settings > General and switch Default Protocol from UDP to TCP.

On anything else you have to download the configs from account.protonvpn.com. Make sure the TCP Radio box is ticked.
