So people have been swapping the region back and forth on their account more than once every three months and not getting banned?

Why would you not setup a Turkish/Argentinian/whatever the closest cheap region is account and then be done with it?

I have considered this multiple times but never done it.

Coming to less fortunate country in SEA (ID), we have like 200 usd to 3.00 usd for average wage.

Some of the games just doesn’t apply the regional pricing such as Square Enix, and Koei Tecmo games.

I wanted to buy their games so badly but ironically, the even waiting for discount doesn’t work as the publisher themselves rarely set discount below 50%.

I hate pirating stuff but sometimes things like this had to be done.

I live in Argentina, I can say the prices are really good. I mean, based on salary the games are affordables but If you are from outside you can go crazy. An AAA deluxe versión of a new game cost nearly 24 usd. We ve got a shitty economy.

Edit: just check the store, one of the expensives game I found its the pre-order of Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition at 42 usd.

Then apply your regional prices properly. I’m not buying fh4 that costs 25% of the average salary

I never cared about regionally priced games.

Until I saw Cyberpunk 2077 was $85 in my region.

What a fucking waste of money.

Regional pricing is a good thing, but is so sad that small poor countries like mine are forgotten and we have to pay USA prices. Steam needs to expand his regions, is the only area where EGS is better. GOG have more Regions with better prices too.

If this means Publishers will actually do fair regional prices I don’t see the issue… but who am I kidding.

Slightly related but regional pricing, in theory, exists to help people purchase digital goods easier but in reality leads to enormous profit situations in certain countries. Which is absolutely ridiculous, if you ask me, because it definitely doesn’t cost you an extra $15-$20 when you convert from USD to EUR to sell digital goods.

https://steamdb.info/sub/580720/ - Battlefield 2042 Gold Edition

Lower income countries should 100% NOT pay the same as first world countries, and VPN abuse only exists because of these specific situations.

Steam regional prices are one of the few thing that make it tolerable living in a shitty economy. Please don’t fuck it up for us guys. :folded_hands:

Fine by me. In our country, we need those regional prices to stay low, else we’re not able to get a thing…

People doing this ‘scam’ is ruining our chances to get games at decent prices :frowning:

ITT: Reddit still unaware how the real world works

I wish this works and we can have better regional prices in argentina. New AAA games are crazy expensive for a poor country like ours. Only indies have regional prices here.

I don’t care about the prices, I can’t buy a lot of games in Germany, which is complete bullshit.

The only people I can understand doing this are those who live in “second world” countries under the Euro. “One currency lol” means that people in these countries that make far less are expected to pay what people in far wealthier countries can.

Okay, but when are they finally going to add the new currencies that popped up in SteamDB like 2 months ago?

So once every steam sale

I didn’t even know it was possible, I don’t mess about with it in case I lose all my games.

Is the price really that different from country to country?

So what’s to stop someone from just having 4-5 accounts and rotating them as needed?
