Support is Working on a Fix for the VPN Not Connecting on Windows and Mac

Just contacted support about the VPN not connecting on Windows and Mac, they told me they’re aware of the bug and are working on a fix. Sent through a few screenshots and they asked me to stay on the line so it looks like they’re actively working on it.

That’s great… I actually tried it for the first time yesterday.
Got frustrated and uninstalled.

One thing I discovered the first time it wouldn’t activate is that Ventura had blocked the installation of the VPN profile but didn’t provide an alert. You might just check to see if a profile has been installed or if it’s sitting in a queue waiting for approval.

What is the error that you are getting? My error is

VPN isn’t available for this device or account

Thanks

Second day it is not working. Worked fine before and is working on Android.

I’ve never managed to get it to connect, but today it tried to connect and then fails, saying:

Disconnected.

VPN is trying to reconnect.

VPN isn’t available for this device or account.

Turn on your VPN to hide your IP address and network from sites you visit.

Before today it just hung with no warnings / notifications saying:

Connecting.

It works fine on my Android phone.

Cool, also not working on iOS for me

Excellent, it’s not working on my iPad today but working fine on my galaxy. I was going nuts trying to figure it out!

Thanks for this post! I was actually going through the troubleshooting steps I would normally go through (but had Google Support on chat just in case) and then I found this post lol

I was thinking that it was because I am at a different hotel than I was last week, and it worked there. Or that somehow, I used up all my devices when I only have my phone and laptop using it right now.

But I’m getting the same “VPN isn’t available for this device or account” error.

Going to follow this post, tried to use it for the first time today.

Is this working for anyone yet? I still get the message “VPN isn’t available for this device”

Had the same issue the last 2 days. Fired it up just now and it is connecting again

My VPN suddenly stopped working at all around the same time. But a different error message. And it’s not working on any device on one particular ISP

So Google seems to have updated the VPN by Google One app/program (for Windows, not sure about Mac). I downloaded and installed the latest version of VPN by Google One and now it is now working again.

Kind of a joke that the app/program itself doesn’t tell you there’s an update, nor did it auto-update. And there’s no obvious version history on the VPN by Google One website either, nothing that tells you that there is even a new version available.

But yeah, if anyone else is having issues, download and install the latest version. Worked for me.

All I’ve been getting, for months, is connecting/disconnected. Google support’s been no help. This is on my Dell desktop W10 machine. Meanwhile, works just fine on two Dell W10 laptops. I just downloaded the latest version, 1.70, and still doesn’t work.

Rather disappointing for a Google service.

hi all,
try re-installing. works for me now

They are taking a long time working on that fix

Lol I uninstalled probably 10 times. Did hella trouble shooting. Used one of my restore points because it felt like it stopped working when I disabled HP bloatware.

It normally works great but until this big is fixed it’s not working at all haha.
