Hello, I had a question about setting up a VPN(SonicWall TZ600). I’m paying the extra for 8(5 useable) static IP addresses. I have the BGW210 router, and I know I have to go in and change it to pass through mode to get it to pass the static IP through to the SonicWall appliance. My question is, is there a way to still run another(since I still have 4 useable) static IP through one of the other gigabit ports on the router? This is my primary home internet, I just don’t want to pass our regular internet traffic back through the corporate servers(not so concerned about Bluey on D+, but I have a second job where I get some pretty interesting attorney-client privileged info as well as our banking and financial info, not to mention my kids are turning into online gaming people between Minecraft and Fortnite, just traffic I’d rather not send through a corporate network). Is that even possible?
You don’t need passthrough if you have static ips. You need to set those ips up in the subnet section of the interface. It’s a little more complicated to do what you need. You could configure another router with a static ip on one of the other ports and use that for home Internet. Or if you know how to, you could set up another interface on the sonicwall with a different static just for home use outside of VPN.
