Spotify Has Added Free Audiobooks for Premium Subscribers
Just UK and Australia for now but still nice.
15 hours a month… so anywhere from half to one-and-a-half books a month?
Perhaps its pedantic, but I dislike when subscription services advertise things you need to pay for as “free”. Especially when they have a free subscription tier that doesn’t get anything.
Like reasonably its just part of your subscription fee rather than anything free.
15 hours a month is hardly enough for many great books. Spotify almost got be back with this.
I was excited for this until I realized it’s just for the account holder with Family plans. That’s kind of a pain, and 15 hours a month is only one book anyway. Hopefully, they’ll get it a better deal.
They had some free books on there for a while at least. I listened to the foundation books, the time machine, and the dunwich horror. There was lots of other stuff though. How is this different
“Spotify Has INCLUDED Audiobooks for Premium Subscribers”
I fixed the title for you. Even that title is misleading since you only get 15 hours but still closer to correct than the original.
I have tried Spotify for audiobooks, it is horrible, you can’t save the place like you can with audible, it’s an interface meant for music, not audiobooks
“Free for Premium”
Free…If you pay
That’s not free lol
I see people complaining but one free book a month in addition to all your music/podcasts etc seems like a good deal to me. I’d rather that than unlimited listening which I’m sure would be terrible for authors.
If you need a subscription to get it, it’s not free it’s included.
Not free if you have to pay for premium but possibly a nice incentive.
That means they’re not free.
I’m listening to “a fire upon the deep” and its a 23h long audiobook. I’d just be pissed when I get cut off lol
They’re gonna add this service and then another service and then they’ll jack up the price on the subscription. Happens every time. I just want ad free music. That’s the only thing I care about.
“Free for Premium…” People don’t know what free means anymore.
“Free to customers who pay us money”
I tend to listen to Spotify a lot as it is, this is just a little perk for when I run out of podcasts to listen to on it
