True, but 99% of this type of lifetime or VPN deals are for those who are using them for entertainment or torrent rather than privacy.

I used to use them on my NAS with an OpenVPN configuration and I never had any disconnects (sometimes there was no data being transmitted, but better than crashing).
Also yeah canceling SUCKS but I didn’t have any issues other than chat cancelation. And their a big company so hopefully they improve or remain the same.

Agreed. However if the VPN provider have no logs, then all they would have is your identity.
Same - something isn’t right and will open a ticket once I can finally log in to Surfshark to confirm the amounts (chat confirmed an infrastructure issue).
Also, the cashback on TopCB shows the rate at 100% when it should have been 108%.
EDIT: Cash back is based on the subtotal (i.e. pre-tax amount), which is $55.79 USD. This reconciles to my invoice. However, the incorrect cash back % was applied: 100% vs 108%. On TopCB, it logs my purchase as 8/3 vs 8/2 - perhaps this is the root cause?
There could be a fee for credit card or paypal currency conversion. My amount is slightly less than what the receipt shows.
My cashback is $56.88. Paid $64.28 with taxes. TopCB showed 100% cashback when I made the purchase last night.
So 2 years of VPN for $7, still great!
Basically a Rakuten competitor, you click through and they reimburse you on their site (via paypal) after 2-or-so weeks.
No idea about the 108%, its quite high, but It’s essentially a free service if you mitigate CAD/USD conversion fees.
I contacted topcashback support and this was the reply:
“With Subscription retailers they will have a validation period of around 90 days, from this finishing a further 10 weeks can pass before cashback will be passed over.
Do be assured as soon as we have received the funds we will reflect this on your account.”
Looks like it’s going to be a loooong wait.
Cashback update: Topcashback confirmed it today. I made the purchase on August 4. So it took about two and a half months, a little less than their estimate of 90 days. Now just 10 more weeks to wait before it can be withdrawn.
The cashback is based on the pre-tax total (which is $55.79). In any case, the credit should be for 108% and not 100%. I’ve logged a ticket with TopCB for this already

Likewise, mine hasn’t registered either. At least it’s refundable for 30 days so we can cancel if the cashback doesn’t show up.
