So I had kaspersky now I got UltraAV because of the transfer. What should I go with now?

So like everyone else, I had no idea this switch was coming.

So my question - I had Kaspersky on auto-renew each year. I want to be sure that is cancelled. Kaspersky has no customer support in the U.S.; and Pango likewise, one had to answer questions on the Pango website and then I guess, get a call back. Did that three days ago.

Does anyone know how to contact Pango? Like everyone else, I thought that was a virus that wiped out my Kaspersky and I uninstalled it, and do not plan to use it. I went back to McAfee, which I used for decades in my time with BofA and Intel. If no way to contact that clowns, will have to cancel my credit card, which is a pain in the a$$.

So now I lost a second computer because of this crap antivirus system that no one had any authorization to install on any of my machines.

I just have one question left. Who is handling the class action lawsuit ?

I never received a termination notice, and my Kaspersky account shows an active subscription. I’ve turned on my VPN to Helsinki, Finland and am still able to update my anti-virus database. No force-install of UltraAV either. Am I the only one in the U.S. still using Kaspersky?

Edit: I bought my license key from Newegg

Uninstall it and use Windows defender with some common sense and a decent adblocker like Ublock Origin. It’s in most cases more than enough to protect yourself.

Just use Windows AV… it’s as good as any of the free crap, and on par with paid ones…

Yeah bro I didn’t even hear about the news regarding kaspersky. I woke up and saw this new antivirus system on my desktop and I tried opening kaspersky but it was gone. So I had to look up what happened because I was literally having a mini heart attack that my desktop somehow had a virus which uninstalled kaspersky somehow. But I was relieved that kaspersky had news regarding it but I don’t trust the new antivirus given. I switched to bitdefender right away

I know they sent an email out to everyone, but some people may have switched email addresses and such, and not received it. Kaspersky should have also pushed a popup about the automatic switch prior to actually pushing the switch.

I had the same feeling when this new ultraAV appeared, but what’s much worse is that I cannot get rid of it The following things were done,

  1. geek uninstaller allow me to uninstall everything associated, however after rebooting it’s still showing up

  2. Using windows safe mode, wouldn’t allow to delete it. ( w Admin privilege )

Anyone has any clue how I should proceed now?

Same, happened to me in the middle of class when I saw powershell popup for a split second and then ultraAV

Revo Uninstaller (free version) worked great.

Me too I unistalled it not sure how to get it back

Yeah I installed that one right away

installed bitdefender shit eats system resources

Was told they share your info with Facebook…

They quite clearly are doing it bc they dont have a choice

I uninstalled it by going to the Start Menu, selecting “All Apps,” and then right-clicking on the two UltraAC selections and clicking “Uninstall.” It took me to the Apps in the Setting menu where I found UltraAV. I clicked on it and selected “Uninstall/Change” near the top.

I doubt it, I paid up until 01/2026 but I’m assuming since they gave us the UltraAV we can’t get a refund. They should though because I didn’t buy UltraAV I bought Kapersky, I may look into a partial refund.

Did you get an answer to this? I cannot stand UltraAV. Bitdefender wasn’t a good fit for me.

I miss the green outline

The problem though is that the Biden administration was the ones that forced kaspersky to do the change. It sucks but I don’t think a lawsuit will work

Yea explain that to my tampered windows defender
