Raspberry Pi VPN

Anyone has some solid video that fully explains how to make my raspberry pi 5 work fully as a VPN so I can connect to my home Lab, I tried a couple YT videos but always have issues that ends up not working well, Thank you in advance

Search for wolfgangs pivpn video / guide on pivpn (and ddns)

Taking the Pi board with you to random places to connect to your homelab? Or using the Pi board as a VPN server at home?

I tried using that tutorial, but I always end up having like really bad transfer speeds when my network is not that bad

I want to set up a VPN to my home set up, and probably will do the same in the office,
For Example I am at the airport And I want to connect to my desktop at home, So I would want to pull my laptop and instantly connect

my isp router is bypassed using a tplink router and I used the portforwarding part in the tplink, do you think I need to do that process in both of them

Doesn’t really answer the question… But I suppose you mean the Pi board stays at home?

Start with your router/gateway… Many have VPN servers built in now, would be easier than setting a Pi board.

The other issue you may have is that different places block different VPNs on their WiFi networks, you may need to setup a few different types to be able to connect from anywhere.

Things to remember when connected to your VPN server:

your upload speed = your download speed
Your download speed = your upload speed

Why do you have two routers? You should put your isp device into bridge/modem mode if possible (or just use the to link solo if possible)

VPNs are single core heavy so wouldn’t expect an ARM CPU to have amazing results (I don’t have a pi5 but results on my pi4s are hit and miss)

Yeah The board stays at home sorry, I have a Draytek Vigor that works as a bypass to another router upstairs, So I will be checking the draytek settings, Appreciate Your help bro

Thanks for advice brother
