Hi, I currently need peer reviewed sources for an essay as required by my professor. I’m a freshman and I have no idea how the ucla library works or if I am even able to access the resources I need online. Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of a website where I can find peer reviewed resources? Or can you explain how to use the library please? Sorry I’m just lost
You’re probably going to need a vpn if you’re not using campus WiFi. Download Cisco anyconnect (help) and login with your MyUCLA ID and password. And then you can pretty much use any database for free. I use Jstor the most.
hey! I’m a freshman too and am also exploring the UCLA library for sources lol. I have been using articles plus and it’s super helpful but I encourage you to look through the other ones we have access to: library website/databases like mentioned above you may need to download the vpn for some articles/databases but it’s pretty straightforward. Happy writing!
also, the librarians are super nice and can give you a tour of their website/teach you how to research using their databases! you can make an appt with them
Google scholar ? Lol
Also, Google Scholar can give you more results from a larger selection of publications.
I didn’t know that! Thanks!
