NordVPN with TOR

has anyone got NordVPN with TOR working? I have tried multiple ways and cannot get it working, has anyone successfully got it working and I know there is onion over VPN however the TOR browser is better for anti-tracking, Thanks

So you’re having trouble connecting to a Nord VPN server and using TOR browser yourself.

That’s strange. I always have the killswitch on and never have a problem with this.

" also it doesn’t show my VPN in the tor route "

I don’t think it’s supposed to show your VPN in the TOR route. It should just show TOR entry node, relay and exit node.

Did you get it fixed in the end?

What exactly are you trying to achieve? Using the VPN over Tor servers or just use the VPN and Tor browser?

Either way, you’re free to connect to any VPN server then use the tor browser on top of this for added anonymity.

Using the VPN/Tor server from Nord will mean that you can access .onion websites using any browser and all computer traffic will be routed through tor.

I highly suggest using the tor browser though as it prevent fingerprinting and has better safety overall.

You’ve got two options, use the onion over VPN server (speciality server) in the application. I’ve had problems with being able to connect/browse internet so try them all. Otherwise, connect to a single VPN then boot up tor browser.

Edit: because I didn’t even answer your question. Perhaps contact Nord support and see how that goes? I’ll try a few onion servers now and see how mine goes.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, connecting to Latvia #1 seems to work for me, I don’t know why other servers don’t work for my TOR

Hi, I’m trying to route my tor traffic through an encrypted VPN / Proxy, however, every proxy, protocol, program I have tried has failed on my laptop and pc, I was just curious if anyone had successfully done it

I’d prefer to use tor browser, however I have connected to my VPN and as far as I can see it appears to be bypassing it, because whenever I turn on the kill switch, it breaks tor, also it doesn’t show my VPN in the tor route

Strange. I just got Latvia #1 working fine.

The kill switch should only disable or shutdown applications if the VPN drop

I prefer tor because it’s a hardened browser and you can also configure bridges for added security.

Yeah, I think my TOR is not going through my VPN, however in this is case, customer support is painful to talk to, they spent 2 hours telling me different ways to disable ipv6
