New user here: No connectivity in Windows 11 VM inside Parallels on macOS

I’m a new user to Proton VPN. I signed up and installed the client in Windows 11 in a Parallels VM on my MacBook Pro, but I’m not getting any connectivity whatsoever after the VPN is established. Is mine a supported scenario?

You are likely better off using the ProtonVPN client on your windows VM.

It may be possible to get your scenario working by playing with bridged networking instead of NAT as part of your Parallels settings. There may be a way to make it work but will require some troubleshooting and networking knowledge. Never tried this.

I am having the same issue, still.

That’s what I said I did.

Nope. I setup a VPN on my home router and connect to it using Windows 11 native VPN client.

Not ideal since I’m adding round trip traffic to home pipe, but it was a quick and easy workaround.

My bad. I read that the other way around. It should work fine in any configuration NAT (your windows VM routes traffic through macOS) or bridged where your Windows VM gets it’s own IP on your local network.

I am using VMware terminology so check the Parallels KB article below.
