Not renewing my subscription in 9 days. Ping has been cut in half w NordVPN, and unlike literally every speed test I’ve ever ran with Surfshark, Nord is giving me upload speeds >100mpbs. I’ve been in Peru for 2 months connecting to Miami servers due to proximity to USA and immediately noticed a big difference.
Dedicated IP with Surfshark started getting captchas today coupled with the fact that “smartDNS” has been down since I chose to start using it (per chat with support) for Netflix access- it literally never worked once. Tired of paying for things that don’t work and are slower than their competitors. This is my review of NordVPN vs Surfshark, your own results may vary.
I tried Nord for one month and I honestly didn’t like them. I really love Surfshark’s wireguard protocol and overall app for every OS. I mean they also offer the one of the best VPNs for the value
Surfshark is running better than it ever has lately. Yes, there was a period of several months where it had stability issues and the app was utter rubbish. The servers have been upgraded and rotating IP works again.
I can’t support a VPN company that has data breaches, tracks users activity and hands everything over to the feds. I switched off Nord after the data breaches
What shocked me is when I cancelled service over a month ago, I decided I needed it weeks later and came back- they gave me the same dedicated IP… something didn’t seem right about that. I asked for a new one and they didn’t have one for me. How many people shared that same DIP? Doesn’t seem very “dedicated”…
Not sure what you mean, but if you mean that literally then they should share resources. No reason I should be pulling 170ms-250ms ping on one VPN service while their “same company” competitor is giving me 50-60ms and twice the speeds on all servers.

It seems like you veered off-topic a bit by mentioning our competitors or other services not related to Surfshark. While we totally get the excitement and the temptation to explore, our little corner of the internet is all about keeping the focus on Surfshark and its rad features.
To keep the Surfshark vibes strong and ensure we’re all riding the same wave, here’s a quick tip: when posting or commenting, let’s keep the conversation centered around Surfshark and topics directly related to it.
That’s why I switched off. Not because the breach was bad but how they tried to hide it and just not notify anyone. From the date of the breach it took them 2 years to send me an email saying hey we got breached.
I get no one is safe and it’s really only a matter of time but it’s how the company handles it and communicates it out.
