Hi! Can you let us know which Proton VPN servers you experienced this with (e.g. CA#13)? Make sure to try switching between different servers, or turn off NetShield, if it’s on, to see if this helps resolve the issue.

Yeah you shouldn’t expect free servers to work. They have lots of users, which means traffic well beyond what OpenAI/Microsoft knows a residential user should use.
We were unable to reproduce this. Please try switching between multiple different servers to see how it goes. We tested the behavior on ES#9, ES#10, ES#13, ES#14, ES#15, and others and had no issues, so give them a try yourself.
Also, let us know whether you have NetShield enabled.
Are the free servers you reference the ProtonVPN servers? I’m in the process of evaluating ProtonVPN. Since there is a 30 day evaluation period, I should probably purchase the service to conduct my evaluation.

We were unable to reproduce the issue on CH#45 ourselves. However, since there are other servers that are working for you, make sure to use those in order to work around the problem.
Additionally, if you have NetShield enabled, try disabling it or selecting a different level of protection to see if that changes anything.
We are still not able to reproduce the issue (on CH#27) even with NetShield on. Have you perhaps tried another web browser, or perhaps a private window with browser extensions disabled to see if you’ll experience the same behavior?
Thanks, and sorry for the oversight - we did initially try to reproduce it via the app on CH#45. We did manage to reproduce it just now on CH#27 with NetShield turned on.
Note that turning off NetShield helps resolve the problem on our end. What also helped was turning off the ChatGPT app, removing it from Recents, and launching it again, so you could also try this as a workaround.
