Is opera VPN good enough?

As the title reads, I’ve been a pirate since I was 12, I’m 27…been going strong. A year ago for a birthday present I got a 5tb external HDD for me bounty. Anyways as the title suggests. Is the opera VPN good enough. I use it the entire time I dl. I don’t up tht much out of fear I’m sorry ik I’m a shitty leech:(. But its seams to have been workin for a few years. I’m only wondering if its actually doin anything or I’ve just been stealthy (limit DL speeds). It is free and its through the browser witch also makes me wonder if its doin anything. Any input would be awesome ty in advance.

Its not a real VPN, just a browser proxy. Get Mullvad.

It doesn’t mask your torrent traffic. You’d be better off using TOR if you don’t want to pay money, but that can be very slow.

If you can, get a NAS instead of an external HDD. The storage is a little cheaper and it offers more backup options in case of failure.

Windscribe. 3$ a month with a custom plan. Been running perfect. I used to use mullvad for 5$ a month. Both are good tbh

Just get a real debrid service. Much cheaper than a VPN and you don’t have to leave your VPN running to download. Pop the magnets/links in then you get an encrypted direct download and/or streaming link

Thanks for all the replies, I thought it was useless n I prolly wasnt getting mail because I was downloading at minuscule speeds n not the vpn through opera.

You can use proton vpn for free, But servers sometimes overload. If you can afford to buy one go for mullvad ( cheap and affordable no reg) then express and nord also there but expensive little compare to mullvad

Curios as to why you chose mullvad as there are cheaper vpns out there that are apparently trusted, like PIA

Prolly just keep usin none until o get a letter again. Havnt gotten one since season 6 of game of thrones when they leaked the first 4 episodes a day be4 the 1st one of tht season aired. I talked to an old school OG n he told me think of the isp like a cop if ur speeding by him all the time hes gunna stop ya every once an a while. So basically just told me to cap my DL speed so my isp doesnt see me juicing all the time. N if opera is useless than thts what’s been getting me by xD

Also I cannot afford vpn sadly :frowning:

You don’t give them any personal details, not even an email address

PIA was acquired not too long ago by Kape Technologies which is known to inject their software with malware. There’s no proof that it happened to PIA yet but Kape is a pretty sketchy company.

Does PIA offer port forwarding?

I personally use epic privacy browser for torrent browsing sometime because its much secure compare to opera

if you can afford a 5TB HDD, you can afford a VPN

Email addresses can be made with simple login. So that doesn’t really matter nowadays

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Prompted me to do a little research, looks like they own expressVPN too, aswell as a some VPN review sites.

I’ll definitely be switching when my month is up. For now, I’ll stick with manual configs and ditch their software.

Yes

Though I’ve never used it

It was a gift they got a year ago… doesn’t really say anything about their wealth position.

I was gifted the hdd
