I have a paid Express VPN account and now a lifetime AdGuard VPN and as we know, you can’t use both simultaneously, so I only use Express when I want to watch UK telly, but one of the reasons I signed up for Express in the first place was for privacy purposes.
It is probably a daft question, but is the local AdGuard VPN running on my phone (Note10+) giving me all the privacy and safety claimed by Express VPN, and only missing the ability to change my location for content consumption purposes (as it’s a local VPN) or is it only blocking ads and not masking my traffic?
Thanks and sorry for what could be a basic question.
VPNs are way overhyped. Basically all they do is change your IP. Some also do some SSL tunneling so hackers have a harder time to listen to your network traffic.
AdGuard doesn’t to both of those things because it’s a local VPN. But honestly in my opinion you don’t need it.
Yeah, have seen that, hope there is some kind benefit to exiating subscribers who purchased lifetime AdGuard and the service is all that they are promising - please be fast!
Would have to be monthly to maintain server cost. I would probably pay for adguardvpn if they don’t track and let me pirate.or can they let us login to a VPN provider with a add-on or setting.
“Noob” a gaming word is actually " newbie " aka a Newguy.
But 99% of the people use it as "Asshole , idiot , jerk , useless piece of shit "
If the Majority defines a word it changes its meaning.
For everyone a vpn is a Privacy enhancing and Ip changing thing.
When everyday Joe reads “VPN” he thinks hes protected on hotspots vs hackers or whatever bullshit real vpn companys claim or that they can torrent freely and more.
Aka something like surfshark a real vpn with Ad filter.
So either adguard should rename it or clearly show a explanation in which way adguards vpn works.
Part the problem is the OS calls it a VPN. When I look at my network settings on my Android or IOS device, it lists AdGuard as a VPN. It even shows a little VPN icon at the top of the screen. So those same people who get confused will be even more confused when they suddenly see a VPN icon they weren’t expecting, and “omg I’ve been hacked”
