I don’t see a lot of educational content in this sub and I often feel like a lot of questions posted here could be answered with a little more of an understanding of how VPN protocols fundamentally work. CBTNuggets does an excellent job of breaking down complex topics into digestible chunks.
If you want to give a shot of some to try, then it should be learned by using different methods, only by obseving a complex/simple video doesn’t help…theory is also required if you want to get the knowledge of Practical…well this is my thought maybe they way you think is different…
A bit more amateur but iv done a ISAKMP IKEv1 protocol analysis video on my YouTube YouTube ISAKMP analysis
I’m pretty happy with it just filming a IKEv2 and then going to do a comparison.
I also have the IKEv2 book again Cisco focused but the video tries to treat the two devices as a initiator and responder as it would on the RFC.
Anyway I hope you like it and if you do please subscribe and il try get the IKEv2 one out next week!
Great video, really good to see the packet analysis as well. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
This is great! Thanks for sharing.
You should absolutely try different protocols. You should also understand technically how they are designed to work so you can pick the one that works for your application and have some understanding of how it’s supposed to work. That’s the only way you can literally observe anything. You configure your VPN then you use it and capture packets then analyze. Does it work the way it’s supposed to? If not check the configuration and troubleshoot. Read the documentation and yeah go to YT and spend some time learning the basics of networking and protocols.
I am still learning mind :)!
I agree but I like reading the content not a video. Totally support what you are doing though.
