iOS Windscribe randomly disconnects and leaves me vulnerable internet

I have Windscribe app installed on my iPhone and runs it 24/7. I already enabled “Always on VPN”. So I expect VPN to work 24/7 when it can connect to VPN, and if VPN can’t connect for some reason, then my phone should stay offline, until I manually connect to VPN again.

But I realize that my VPN disconnects randomly, and my phone can still access internet. It happened to me a few times.

What can I do to fix this?

Use the Firewall it’s what it’s for.

What protocol do you use? OpenVPN always randomly disconnects for me. Don’t have this issue with WireGuard. IKEv2 sort of works but it’s also weird sometimes.

Could I get specifics on which protocol that is being used, if Allow LAN Traffic is enabled in the connection settings, and is this Cellular data or Wifi? Thanks.

I thought Winscribe does not have a kill switch there kill switch is basically the always on choice for firewall.

Thank you for the suggestion, but there isn’t a standalone killswitch option in the iOS Windscribe app. In case I have missed it, I hope you can point it out for me

I’m afraid the frequency of disconnects is not the main issue here. It’s the absence of a kill switch/firewall for me. The risk of exposing my real IP is huge.

The firewall is Windscribes kill switch but better. It has been proven multiple times that their firewall is a better solution to using a traditional Kill switch.

The Always On & Firewall have been merged into one. It’s called Always on VPN

Windscribe has a firewall which has been proven to be more secure than a traditional Kill switch. Windscribes firewall blocks all sorts of traffic before the VPN connection is fully established. Btw, if its such a huge risk for your IP to get leaked (indicating you’re probably doing something shady, I don’t care tbh), don’t use your iPhone to do whatever you do. Apple has a shit ton of information about you anyway. Using a VPN doesn’t hide your traffic from the big Apple at all. If you want to be safe, install Debian or arch and use Windscribe there. And if you want to be really really secure, use Whonix.

Apropos Apple, their VPN compability sucks ass, it’s not Windscribes fault at all for your connection to randomly cut.
