If I understand correctly, a vpn to home connection pretty much makes it seem that anywhere in the world it looks like I am on my home network. How do I set that up?

Not with surfshark.
Some router support that to make a home connection vpn but don’t expect to have a fast connection nor privacy a vpn from a company like surfshark brings.
Hi, Surfshark does not provide such feature.
So it’s the router itself that creates its own vpn server which I can log into? (assuming that the router has the capabilities)
How would I log into that server from outside my home?
then why are there tutorials on the website?
Usually it creates a ovpn file or something a like.
What would I have to do to access that ovpn? How secure would one be? Can the devices choose whether or not to be connected to the server like a normal vpn, or is it always running?

If your router supports it , make a config file in the ui , download that config file , install the Ovpn client on your device and use that config file.
Security is up to the router and the settings of said config file.

You can connect and disconnect.
Hey, this is totally unrelated. So, I saw a comment you made two years ago on a post that said tooth picks are better than q tips, and you linked an Amazon page with a better tool.
What was the tool? The Amazon page no longer exists.
Edit: i can’t DM you right now because I’m on mobile and the original post was archived so I wasn’t able to reply to you there. I had to go to a recent comment of yours. Sorry.
I aprpreciate it in advance if you remember what the tool’s name was.
2 years ago? Wow. What was the context? Cleaning wax out of ears? Maybe I linked these ear pics. And btw, if this is not what the comment your talking is in regards too, this is still good advice. Pics like these remove and can scrap the wax back while a tips push the wax back. These could hurt your ear drum if you make contact with it, but it’s not going to rupture or anything

That’s the post. Yours is the first comment.
Thank you for the Amazon link! I definitely will buy it. I’ve been needing a good way to remove wax.
Thats what I was thinking it was. The link that I just gave you is the same tools
