How do I initialize CyberGhost VPN with qBittorent?

I am connected to my router via Ethernet cable. For some reason, if my VPN randomly disconnects, my torrents will keep downloading on my real IP, even with the Killswitch option activated. This defeats the purpose of even paying for a VPN. How can I solve this?

You need to use the Bind option in qBittorrent to bind the client to the VPN connection so that if the VPN drops the client will stop seeding/downloading.

Loads of instructions here, just search for them.

Yep what he said. Don’t rely on VPN killswitches

There’s a setting in Qbittorrent and bind Windscribe VPN/or any VPN adapter to the network interface only (in the settings- advance tab) for additional killswitch making qBittorent will stop all activity if your VPN FAILS, shutdown, disconnect you name it.

Now, This is what happens when you open Qbittorent without VPN turned on of if VPN gets disconnected or craps out when torrenting. https://i.imgur.com/ubIm4Uj.jpg

Is this my VPN?

Or is it the Cyberghost one? I am currently using cyberghost so it should be active so I dont think that ones’ it… I’m baffled to think it’s the “Windows adapter” as well.

YES, TAP adapter is likely for OpenVPN/ UDP protocol in Windows 10, I see you also have the WANminiport for Ikev2 protocol. So whatever you are using when connected will be one of those. Another way to check is to be connected to the Cyberghost VPN. and Open up task manger - go to performance tab - and check if theres another ethernet for your VPN.
