Hi, i got my self Avast and now antivirus claims my IP is not protected even when my VPN is on and it tries to sell me upgrades. Ain't this a sign of faulty product and scam? (sorry for the elvish language at the picture)

common tactic of VPN company. it will say u not protected unless using its VPN IP address. if u using avast VPN and go to express/nord/surfshark website, the banner saying you not protected will shown up top

just ignore it

My advice would be get rid of Avast and ExpressVPN and switch back to Windows Defender.

Most modern antivirus and VPN companies are in the business of keeping you afraid so you continue to pay for their products, like you’ve demonstrated in this thread.

Ok, thank you. Couldn’t ignore it and have to demand money back, and if they wont i’ll have to contact finnish competition and consumer authority  because that is clearly false advertisement.
