What is wrong with this country? My main two income sources - tiktok and bybit is blocked here. I know VPN is a thing here, but it decreases internet speed. What is wrong with your country?
I don’t know if I’m missing some context here, but this post sounds so entitled. Are you an influencer or just a tourist who went to Uzbekistan without doing any research and are you now mad at the country because some things aren’t the same like in your home country?
As I said, I really hope I’m missing some context here and this is not the case. But otherwise, yikes. It sucks when governments censor the internet, but unfortunately that’s just reality in some countries and the only things you can do is bypass it by using a VPN or just live with it. If the income via social media is that important, try to avoid going to countries like these.
If you’re a resident of the country and now lack income because of new regulations (I don’t know if TikTok being blocked is new) and the VPN is slow, maybe you can try another VPN? VPNs normally shouldn’t slow down your internet.
Finally someone I can agree with, Uzbekistan is a shit place! The people are amazing, but the country in general sucks
It is thing to control people, u are feeling tip of iceberg
I agree with you 100%. I lived in many places, I travel a lot and my income is online. So I can compare this country to others, and I can definitely say it’s a joke. Especially when it comes to technology and services, it’s a total joke. I don’t like to comeback there so often anymore, I have to though because of family matters.
it is a shithole. twitter used to be blocked also. I suspect goverment fears overthrow, it is an opressive authoritarian regime here that is not getting better.
what? we aren’t the only country to have banned TikTok neither are we the only one’s that restrict internet usage.
you clearly can still bypass it easily with VPN so it isn’t much of a problem.
I am actually very surprised…
Bruv , where can I get corn flour in Bukhara , what do you call it there ?
I live here. And boy I can tell you, this country is a joke. Like anything you point a finger at - there’s just some bullshit. Mobile network service - have your passport to buy a sim card, nowhere in the world I have encountered anything like this, Chevrolet, even the new ones suck, build quality is just a joke, but more importantly is government policy to make sure you don’t get to drive decent german/japanese car. I could go all night long about what is wrong with Uzbekistan, it’s simply a thrid world country and I don’t know where the hell you people are going.
can’t say the same for the people… maybe if you are a foreigner
Well that was a hot take
it’s called “makkajo’xori uni”
Doesn’t sound great Have you lived there all your life? If so, can you move / do you want to move? If not, why did you move there?
Sorry if I’m asking too many questions, I’m just wondering how you ended up in this situation and if there’s something you can do about it, because no one deserves to live in a country they absolutely hate.
eh it doesn’t really matter, it’s just a platform and they aren’t technologically equiped to actually do anything serious, using the government websites shows how they are still pretty much 20 years behind the world about the internet
Moved here 4 months ago because of work, been here multiple times, traveled all across this country, saw probably more than most locals don’t get to see

this is the thing with us uzbeks. someone takes away you right, and “it doesn’t really matter”. sheep. we are so used to being pushed around throughout the short history the word uzbek was a thing. it must be heaven for the ones in power to rule a herd like this.
But if social media is your main source of income why move to a place where these apps harder to use for work? Is your work not your (main) source of income?
You haven’t lived here for long. I was born in uzb and moved to the US when I was 1 but as most of my family is there and I can tell you, it’s not as bad as you say. In fact, A lot of people in uzbekistan are tiktokers, youtubers, etc etc. Tiktok isn’t ‘blocked’ there, quite the opposite, tiktok, youtube, and instagram are the most trending platforms in uzbekistan. And you need a passport to buy a simcard in most countries. This is to prevent fraud and to ensure that the person buying the sim card is who they say they are. You also need to submit your name, address, and date of birth. It’s nothing new, so please do tell me what rock you’ve been living under. And you expecting chevrolet cars to be all modern and shit is just funny, It’s literally been 112 years since the brand has been made, you can’t possibly be thinking chevrolet cars are any better in other countries. Maybe live there for 20+ years and then complain, You literally don’t know ANYTHING.
