[FIX] Split Tunnel not working (chrome, firefox, edge. etc)

A lot of people are having issue with “Allow only select apps to use VPN” but i have found a fix for it.

the issue that was happening was when the VPN was on it would stop the connection completely on my browser even when chrome wasn’t supposed to be connected to the VPN

what you need to do is open chrome → privacy & security → Security

under the advanced tab you will see DNS settings, change it to manual and set it to google DNS, or manually type 8.8.8.8. chrome has preset ones I just selected googles DNS. hope this helps someone in need! I’ve reported the fix to ExpressVPN.

I have set Firefox to “Allow only select apps to use VPN” and on Chrome I can connect to almost every site except the google domain (Like google.com, translate.google.com…)

It still blocks my other apps; I changed the dns settings and to the google DNS. I have it to only tunnel chrome and it blocks some other apps

I had NORD ONLY tunneling qbittorrent and for years it was fine. Now, all of a sudden, I HAVE to include firefox (which I use) in the VPN tunnel in order to get on google.com AND amazon.com! This never happened before. I did upgrade firefox, but ONLY qbit should be in the tunnel.
