ExpressVPN not hiding my location

When on Google, ExpressVPN does not hide my location. When I type “Where am I”, it shows my real location. It also doesn’t work with Netflix. On my computer and phone, it still gives me the US Netflix. When I type “What is my IP” it gives me the ExpressVPN one, but that seems to be the only thing working.

Are you using the EVPN DNS on these devices? Does it show precise location or just the city?

If not, then they’re getting your location from another google app that you’re signed into, your wifi IP address, or via the DNS.

It’s show just the town I live in. What is a EVPN DNS? I tried changing my computer DNS but it didn’t work

EVPN = ExpressVPN.

How are you connecting to EVPN? Are you using their app?

I have both the Windows 10 app and browser extension

In the EVPN app, click on the 3 lines in the top left corner then select Help and Support → DNS Leak Test.

This will tell you if you’re using their DNS service. I believe you need to use their DNS service in order to route your traffic properly thru their network. If it shows you’re not using their DNS, contact support to figure out why.

Thank you for your help. I’ve found the issue. When I had changed my VPN location, during the few seconds it was down Google had saved my location. Clearing my cookies then restarting my PC seems to have fixed the issue. Netflix still doesn’t work, but most likely Netflix had discovered and flagged the IP address that ExpressVPN uses. Again, thank you for helping me with my problem.
