ExpressVPN Latest Update and Connection Issue with RDP

Hello,

Is there anything wrong with latest version 12.83.0.60 of EV?

old versions of EV worked perfectly in my windows server but now RDP (Remote Desktop) disconnect (connection lost) whenever i run EV app in it, and RDP (mstsc) doesn’t connect from local machine until i disconnect/stop ExpressVPN app from windows server through KVM access.

i also uninstalled latest version and tried to check old version and it worked perfectly like before, then i decided to keep old version and i Unchecked auto update option from app but sadly app auto updated itself :frowning:

could you kindly fix this issue?

I hope I’m in the group it gets rolled out to - at least that’s what they implied - have been having some real problems with express of late. It’s just so much trouble to try to get out (of anything it seems) lately

any update? same issue here on the latest version, can anyone advice on the last verion that works ok with RDP?

I’m expecting the fix in next update and hope EV staff have noticed it.

Just updated to 12.88.0.36, still no joy. It appears that recent updates also don’t respect the “excluded application” list. I have Sonarr and Radarr running on the excluded list - everything used to work fine, I could access from wherever, but recent updates are now denying access from external network while the EV is connected. The RDP issue remains. Does any one know which version of EV worked with RDP?

Thanks. I just installed 12.68.0 (4) and confirm it is working. I think I’ll install incrementally each update to the “newest” version that works. It is definitely an issue with newer versions of ExpressVPN blocking the RDP and not following the excluded list. Will reply back with “newest” version that still works.

EDIT: the “newest” version that works is 12.75.0.12. Any version thereafter either doesn’t sign in to ExpressVPN or blocks RDP and excluded programs.

Please try disabling the Network Lock feature of the ExpressVPN app and try reconnecting to the VPN and use the RDP(Remote Desktop) to see if that works.

  1. In the ExpressVPN app, click Menu icon. > Options.
  2. Click “Options.”
  3. In the General tab, check or uncheck the box for Stop all internet traffic if the VPN disconnects unexpectedly.4. Uncheck “Stop all internet traffic if the VPN disconnects unexpectedly.”
  4. Click OK.

I got this info while chatting with ExpressVPN Support and it worked.

hi i dont think that will work, the issue is when the vpn is connected, not when it disconnects
