Getting a Fios business connection at one location and want to be able to vpn to it from my house. Does the Fios gateway/router allow configuring open vpn or WireGuard so I can connect to that network while home?
Nope. Would have to use your own router or depending on your needs, could use something like a VNC server or similar remote desktop software.
If it helps I can use a laptop on site where Fios is.
Yes, if you setup your own and forward the port in the router (which does not have a built in vpn)
^ this ^ Done it myself. I set up an openVPN VM on a server at home and opened a port to forward the incoming connection to that VM. I can connect to it from my phone or my laptop when I’m away from home.
Since it’s not integral to the router, I can shut the VM down when I don’t need it, in case anyone’s poking around scanning for VPNs.
