A few months ago, I was in Mexico. I was connected to the resort’s wife and turned PIA on. It would not allow me to connect to any of my streaming services. Was I doing something wrong or is there a work around?
DNS is probably blocked
The resort had to be blocking, I just got back from spending time at a resort in Nuevo Vallarta and PIA worked beautifully for me.
Use SmartDnsProxy free trail and it works.
What device was connected to the wifi? What device was running the PIA app? What device were you trying to stream the content on? We need all this information to properly diagnose the problem.
iPad and iPhone were connected to Wi-Fi, the app was installed and running on both. They were the devices that I was trying to stream on.
Sounds like either the PIA IP address has been blacklisted by the steaming site or the device is transmitting location data, which can be obtained by multiple sources including wifi signals in the area, and the streaming site is blocking the device/region. There is information out there on how to hide your physical location.
