I keep getting the 0x30001 Error every time I start up the game. I’ve validated my game files and tried everything the game recommends me to do in order to fix this but the only thing that works is using a VPN. I use betternet so i only have 500MB per day. The only issue i can think of is that my normal location is in Canada but the VPN sets my location to somewhere in the US. I’ve also tried playing other games and they all work, except Dark Souls 3 does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.
In Hawaii - Cant connect to hunt servers without using California VPN. Any reason for this?
Yeah I’ve been using vpn at a specific house to get around the problem. I wonder if it’s the router or if the ISP just sucks.
I moved houses and got new internet and haven’t had this issue since. Same PC. Was definitely a network issue.
try:
- Googling for settings to change on your router
- Googling for network settings to change on your pc
- Buy a different router
- Switch internet companies
I’m sure there are other options to try before spending more money but you’ll have to google to find them.
I spent 2 years using Betternet VPN’s 500MB/day to play Dark Souls 3 and Hunt: Showdown because it was the only way I could play.

Could be both. Here in Canada I know Rogers locks down a lot of things in the name of “security” and they’re also slowly removing settings from their router settings in favour of the less functional wi-fi mobile app
