You do not see ads they are blocked. However, it is that non-skippable preroll ad that is the cause of the YT live chat being blocked for 20 seconds on live streams. The issue is only noticeable on live YT streams with live chat enabled that have non-skippable ad at the beginning of the live stream.
You can evangelize all you want for Brave is not perfect or without faults. Don’t lash out to end users who have reported issues in Brave Community in Brave’s Github asking if there is anything else we can provide Brave devs with only to be met with the sound of crickets.
In the past when this was happening live streams, I went into Brave and none of the lists were checked in Brave Filter List section yet the ads do not show up if Brave shields are enabled and black trackers and ad blocking is enabled.
If there are no lists checked under Filter Lists then what is Brave using to block ads? There is only so much we as end users can do if parts of the ad blocking his hidden from our control.
He did the same thing with at least one alt, then deleted the account and started over again.

It still happens in Brave with its shields down and using the regular uBlock Origin. It does NOT happen in Vivaldi with the same uBlock Origin installed and the same settings that Brave is using in UBlock Origin. Others may be seeing this delay in chat but do not realize it is caused by unskippable ads having to play for 20 secs since the ads are blocked.
