I have recently been forced over to purevpn from ivacy. The purevpn windows app “helpfully” creates a new network connection every time it reconnects whether I do it or the app does. This means I can’t bind the connection as it keeps changing. Is there any way to change this behaviour so it uses the same network connection?
If it’s anything like ProtonVPN where the port changes everytime the server changes you just manually enter the port into qBit everytime. Or dont switch servers unless absolutely needed.
It’s not the port it’s the network connection. The app creates one called something like puevpn2. But when it reconnects it will be purevpn3, purevpn5 etc. So you can’t bind to qbittorrent. It seems to sometimes disconnect and reconnect on it’s own so I can’t just leave it connected
Try a different protocol. While Wireguard is the latest/greatest, I found it creates a different ivacy/purevpn# on every new connection.
While using IKEv2 it will just be ivacy/purevpn and that’s it. The only thing that will change on occasion is the IP address because you didn’t get the previous IP address you had. And depending on which server you’re using in my experience, the odds are you’ll get the same IP address a good portion of the time.
