Astrill VPN not working

Hey, I’ve been using Astrill in Shanghai for over a month now and suddently it stopped working. It bounces between download speed of 0.0-10 and same for upload speed, it says its on and my account hasnt expired. I’ve been fiddling around with different servers, from the LA 1-2-3 to Dallas to some of the UK ones, same problem for all of them. I still cant connect to facebook and my google starts up as google.hk

Anyone else has the same problem or any idea why this is happening?

Henan guy here. Working fine. OpenVPN on LA 2.

If you are on the PC version, then just put it on the speed test in the ‘Help’ tab and ‘test all servers’. During the test you will see that 80% of the servers show “ERROR” under the ‘Speed’ column. For the past couple of days, Miami and St. Louis have been best of the US based servers for me.

Mine’s been shoddy ay best the past few days. I wish there were more information regarding which servers are down etc. Good thing Reddit greases PRC palms! ha

I had an issue with it a while ago. I contacted their support (which you should do) and they suggested I enable advanced settings (which I already had) and change the MSS to 1300. I messed with a few settings and managed to get it working again.

Contact their support. Their customer service is shit, but they should help.

I’m actually leaving them when my subscription expires. I can’t believe they don’t let you use the VPN on multiple computers at once and they don’t have a native Android app.

I’m going back to PandaPow.

I have this crap too. Impossible to use Spotify with it.

Glad to hear it wan’t just me. I was having problems as well. Australia/LA2/Korea 1,2, I would have a good connection for the first minute, then speeds would drop to 0. They seemed to have resolved themselves things now, but we’ll see.

no idea why, but yesterday night upload for the two servers you mentioned was slow debudeliao. seem back to normal now

I was using OpenWeb, never used OpenVpn before. Is there a difference.
Edit: Tried changing to OpenVPN no difference.

Not sure. It just seems faster for me. I never did a quantitative test. I know you can’t use the media recorder on it.

OpenWeb means your web browsers are calibrated for vpn usage. OpenVPN means your computer’s entire internet connection is being fed through the VPN: torrent, QQ, webbrowser, games, etc.
