Any plans to add an Indian server?

Hi. Excellent VPN, i’ve been using it for close to half a year (moved on from windscribe/IVPN), there’s but one problem that i have with it

I use indian accounts to pay less for services like Spotify (thinking of moving my Steam acc there too), because the prices are that much cheaper in the country.

But for whatever reason Mullvad, despite having servers in so many countries to chose from, does NOT have one in India.

Are there any plans to add one? And if not, why not? Surely if you’ve got one in like Albania it probably wouldnt be too complicated to get one in a country as big as India, right?

Nowadays it’s not only about an IP address inside the country. Steam afaik only accepts local credit card or debit cards issued inside the country.

Same for my Spotify account in Vietnam.

That piece of news is from 3 years ago. Other prominent providers have Indian servers, so why not Mullvad?

you can get an indian/turkish virtual card rather easily, there is an added comission but it’s something like 10% so could still be worth it

Many other providers claim to have virtually located Indian servers, where they’re actually physically located in other places. India is not a place known for privacy, nor is it popular amongst providers that had servers there. Nord, Express and Proton all removed their presences.

So, why not add a virtually located server then?

nor is it popular amongst providers that had servers there

How do you know this?

Nord, Express and Proton all removed their presences.

This is wrong. Why are you lying? A cursory look shows that this is not true:

"Proton VPN no longer operates VPN servers within India because Indian law now requires VPN providers to log and store user activity. But you can still get an Indian IP address with Proton VPN.

Simply select one of our Smart Routing servers for India (physically located in Singapore), and you can browse the internet privately and stream content as if you were in India."

Mullvad don’t add virtual servers.

Lol ok, completely wrong and then “you’re lying”

That’s great, so why not add a virtual server?

You need to ask Mullvad directly, I don’t work for them, I just understand that they only use physical servers.

Judging by the fact that almost all users replying here post exclusively on this subreddit (which makes me think they are employees/bots), that was not an unreasonable question

Oh well, guess i’ll just be moving to a different VPN.
