Alternatives to Cisco Anyconnect VPN Client for XP

Hello

I’d like to connect to my universities VPN on my XP machine, but they recommend the CISCO anyconnect vpn client v4 for this, which doesn’t install on XP (too old). V3 is available, but I’m having a hard time finding an install for it, and some folks on forums have said it doesn’t work anyway.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a VPN client for XP that works like anyconnect? In other words, it has the ability to open webpages to sign in with institution credentials? I downloaded OpenConnect GUI, but it’s not as simple as I’d like. Might be able to figure it out, but I just thought I’d ask to see if anyone has suggestions.

Thanks!

Tried any old version of OpenVPN? Try be careful when connecting to university networks on old machines they might have blocks in place and security protocols that will refuse connection for safety

It’s not just an issue with the client. You’ll have to make sure the browser and OS can support the security protocols the university requires. Which you don’t have on hand… and if you ask, they’ll probably just shoot you down because that’s a security risk for their network.

Thanks I’ll give it a try
