doesn’t have port forwarding
Do you use the wireguard client or wireguard through eddie? I used Wireguard and my VPN disconnects every hour or so
Unfortunately new customers to airvpn only get 5 ports now.
Can you explain me via pm how to set it? I needto pay for airvpn and wireguard is just a protocol? What client should I use on Windows?
Hi, Sorry, but I tried to find how to make this works. Is there any tutorial? I read the readme, but I have no clue at all. Thank you!
The link does not work, do you know of an alternative?
I was just looking for something like this!
I followed the instructions on airvpn website and I am using wg. I am on linux and needed to work on the shell.
Between choosing the server, installing wg, sudo, and securing the private key, you need to know what you are doing.
Despite all this, my vpn broke at a time when I had no direct access to the pc. The reason was that they moved the server to maintenance. Based on their documentation on their website - i switched away from using a single server.
The point I want to make is that I have to be more hands on. I don’t mind it but I know people who would find it too hard.
It makes your client visible to the world. If neither the seeder not the leacher have pf, they won’t see each other which means you won’t be able to download. At least one party needs to have port forwarding.
I use the eddie client.
Ahh, didn’t realize that. Thanks for the clarification.
Sorry, I don’t do tech support via PM, and I don’t use it on Windows, only Unraid. But AirVPN has a pretty good support forum available here.
It’s the same as the regular ProtonVPN app, except in the Advanced tab in settings, have port forwarding enabled and then for the port updating method, if you’re running qBit locally and you use it through the GUI, update through Command Line. But if you’re running qBit through the WEB UI, then leave the method on WEB UI. Now with this, whenever you boot up Proton, it will start up qBit and automatically have the port # updated to the forwarded one in ProtonVPN.
Ooh shoot thanks. I was planning to setup wire guard on my remote computer at my folks house to use abroad. They certainly could not trouble shoot it
So, in the eddie client, under “protocols” option there are 4 wireguard options with various ports. Does it matter or I can choose any one of them? Also while I was on wireguard, I had frequent vpn disconnection every hour or so. On openVPN there’s no disconnction, but the speeds are slow, especially upload speeds
Got it! Thannk you!!!
Thinking of getting airvpn. What is the “eddie” client?
I didn’t notice any difference. I just used the 3rd one. I didnt have disconnections i think. Yes openvpn is very slow, i wouldnt recommend anyone using that.
I am satisfied. The only thing missing really is split tunnelling:(
Same, miss how easy it was to split tunnel in mullvad. The workarounds for split tunneling in airvpn is just too complicated.
