I searched the sub here, read the help docs, and asked people in person. As far as I can tell I should have decent speeds using Proton.
On a like new Pixel 6 Pro, five feet away from a 5g signal using whatever the fastest service T-Mobile offers (my roommate’s apartment, his Internet, I’m unsure).
When I use VPN signal continuously drops out/slows.
When I test speeds, my download speed is 3x faster without VPN, upload speed relatively close.
I’ve tried every setting in every configuration. I’m connected to the closest servers and always use ‘fastest connection’.
Is my phone just shit now and I need a newer one (this is the answer I’ve seen most often blamed by proton support)? Or is there an answer from someone who fixed the same issue?

See our recent comment here for some more info on possible things to have in mind in increasing VPN speeds: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/1gk3y9k/comment/lvo9deo/
What speeds are you getting for both?
Is secure core on or off?
Thanks! This is one of the comments I was referencing
I’m on the visionary plan. Pixel 6 Pro is still pretty good I think? I’m using Wireguard currently, but as I mentioned, I’ve tried every setting combination I could. High end Internet using 5g connection close by. Not sure what else to do unless, again, it’s a pixel 6 pro issue?
I just tested, with proton 101mb download (which is fast as I’ve seen it). Without, 360mb.
Uploads about the same, around 9 right now.
It seems to keep buffering when I’m using the VPN, so it feels like the shows is both slow and dropping?
Edit: thank you for a reply, whatever your intent!

This is really frustrating. I’ve uninstalled, etc, etc, everything I could think of.
I even jumped on visionary just to see if that made any difference to my services (plus I wanted to support proton). Been a user since day one
Secure core off. I’ve tried with it on as well just to try.
