I always have my VPN on and I’ve always had my music on and I’ve never had a problem until a few weeks ago

on my android phone any vpn will cause apple music to not work the server makes no difference

I had tons of problems with ProtonVPN regardless of the operating system, sadly seems like their servers have bad reputation (bad actors) so their IP addresses got blacklisted or something else.

Personally I ditched out Proton for NordVPN, and now I’m not facing issues anymore.

Doing some quick search it seems you are not the first one to have problems specifically with Proton and Apple Music or other services. For example:

Perhaps you can find better support at r/ProtonVPN or with their customer support.

I use a VPN frequently while using Apple Music on iOS and how no issues.

im also using Android with vpn, sometimes songs will stop before it finish and play next song I guess it’s because unstable network. but other than that it’s totally fine for me.
