All VPN's keep disconnection after 10 minutes?

Thanks for the tip. By the way is it normal that when I am connected to TorGuard I have two connections: My main one and one which says TorGuard Virtual Adapter V9 or something like that. I also have tap-windows driver V9 which however shoes “Cable unplugged”. Is that normal? I have been using Ethernet all the time.

Edit I just tested in safe mode and it doesn’t work as well. And after many tests it doesn’t work on the other PC as well. It must be ISP related and I think about trying the “Small packets” option. I read somewhere that it might help.

Testing multiple VPNs in Windows can get messy. Each VPN creates its own TAP adapter. And then Windows can get confused. Once you settle on a VPN, just delete all the extra TAP adapters.

If it’s your ISP playing games, it may take a while to figure out how to connect reliably. Maybe pick a VPN that has obfuscation options, and offers good support.

After a live session with TorGuard via TeamViewer they were still not able to fix it. I, however, found where the problem is. After many tests it looks like this happens on all my devices at home, therefore it has got be an issue with a) TorGuard Client or b) my router and ISP.

It is not happening to all VPN’s as I stated in the title. After many tests I can confirm that PIA works flawlessly. Since I have narrowed the possible causes do you have any idea what it might be?

I can access the setup page of my router, but I don’t understand a lot. Is it possible that my router blocks UDP, I think probably no, because PIA works with UDP. Also I made PIA work via downgrading the TAP driver. I was looking for an older version of TorGuard, but I can’t seem to find anything.

I know that you can’t know why I have this issues, but I was wondering if you have any ideas after narrowing down the possible causes. Thanks.

I’m guessing that your ISP is blocking the ports that TorGuard uses, but not those that PIA uses. As I recall, PIA uses port 443 for all of its servers, and that’s the standard HTTPS port, so it’s rarely blocked. TorGuard uses various less-common ports, which can be blocked without affecting non-VPN users.

Anyway, if you want to use TorGuard, see if they have servers using port 443. Or look for other VPNs that do. Or stick with PIA.

It could also be that your ISP is blocking traffic to TorGuard servers. If PIA stops working, that would be a hint that they’re blocking servers. You can check by pinging servers before trying to connect. Some VPN client apps will do that. Or you can just do “ping w.x.y.z” at the command line.
