Data was hand collected, using Nord VPN. If a country required local payment option, it wasn’t included. If NordVPN didn’t have a server there, it wasn’t included. If the youtube Premium Family page didn’t exist, it wasn’t included. I only included countries that I had data on, so as to include as many data labels as possible.
There are guides to get around the “local payment option”, just thought this data would be interesting to see in one place. If there are any incorrect numbers, I’m likely to blame.

It really is. I use the Family Premium plan and I realized recently that me and my sons use YTP as our primary streaming service, while my wife and daughters use more traditional streamers for movies and shows. From that perspective, it seems worth it but the price is not easy to live with.
For me the 55% price increase in one go is just crazy. I would maybe understand from 17,99€ to 22,99€ but to 28,99€! That’s just pure insanity! What are they thinking??
We know that, but surely sitting in Switzerland and paying almost $40 per month for a subscription would seem an insane amount to pay.
To get YouTube Premium in India, you can either use a VPN or ask someone who lives in India to help you. I immigrated to Canada in 2018 and became a Canadian citizen, but I still pay only $20 for a one-year individual premium subscription. My brother, who still lives in India, assists me with this. If you need any help, just let me know.

The increases are disgusting, they should roughly follow the % inflation increases of the country like most products and services, but they think ‘nah fuck it we’ll just double it here, triple it there, quadruple it here’…. Etc. for what they’d gain in revenue they’ll lose in customer leaving
