Does anyone noticed YouTube doesn’t work well with VPN / blocklist recently? Any fix?

I haven’t had issue with YouTube. Maybe change the location/server. Keep in mind that VPN do make your connection slower

I’m having an issue where youtube videos are loading slowly or sometimes take a page refresh to appear. But that’s because Google is trying to sabotage Firefox, not because of a VPN.

No problem here. You should try a different location node.

When youtube is running slow for me its usually fixed by checking for updates in the browser.

I do have issues with smarttubenext on my shield and smart tv. Set up wireguard on router and whenever im connected, every video will just blackscreen. If i switch to my wifi without vpn it runs fine. Normal YouTube runs smooth with or without vpn

I just tested with a 1080p YouTube video and it worked very well. No issues.

I’m using Mullvad VPN (WireGuard) and the Firefox browser with the uBlock Origin ad-blocker extension.

Youtube works fine with me, frontends like Invidious not so much these days (but for reasons unrelated to VPN blocking). I did notice issues with Reddit however. Mullvad openvpn has a lot of servers blocked by Reddit. Using wireguard seems to work better for now.

Mine just started doing the same with NordVPN. I haven’t changed anything, at least to my knowledge. Di you ever find a fix?

Well don’t post your problems to the internet then if you don’t appreciate the help you’re being given. That location + server change could very well help, as YouTube could’ve blacklisted the previous ip of the server you used.

I don’t. I just refresh the page if YouTube is refusing to show me the video right away.

I use Firefox and mullvad, with windows 10, no issues with YouTube videos, I do not use an ad blocker for YouTube tho but I do use no script. Out of United States.
