curious about this feature. it’s on by default. why would anyone choose to this turn off. would be there any difference in privacy? if none, then why is it a feature in the first place?
No difference in privacy.
It is a feature because it improves performance. There is no way anyone could prove that it won’t break unusual applications, so they let you turn it off just in case. Also, people who don’t trust anything will want to turn it off.
Using BBR might be a big part of the performance improvement. Here is a presentation from a couple of days ago about using BBR for Starlink connections.
I want protonvpn to connect to specific countries. Turning this feature ON makes it reconnect to countries I don´t want it to.
Well, I cannot access ‘Home’ video cameras on my iphone without turning it off…So that’s one reason.
