Why is kill switch so annoying

I don’t understand why it’s made like this. Kill siwtch is great as a security feature but there are numerous moment where one could have a good reason to disable the vpn, server that block vpn connection, game performance, things like that are why it should be easy to disable a vpn whenever it’s needed.

So WHY do i have to manually disable this kill switch every time i need a normal connection ??? idk… the app could just disable the kill switch when you purposefully disconnect NordVpn (the idea of this feature is to prevent unpurposefull disconnection i belive) when the stop / start button is pressed and re-enable KillSwitch when the stop / start button is pressed again. Couldn’t it at least work with the pause feature ???

I don’t get the point, it’s juste a good way of forgetting I disabled it and wander around without it. If the goal is to just disable any connection without VPN what is the point of letting me stop or even pause the connection in that case ?

The whole point of allowing you to Pause a VPN is if you don’t want to use split tunnelling but have to access certain sites without a VPN.

Also, a program can’t tell if you accidentally disconnect or if you purposely disconnect. If you want to access a site without using a VPN, just disable Kill Switch and then use split tunnelling instead.

What operating system are you using?
As far as I know, the Kill Switch on Windows has two options:

  • disabling internet access when a VPN connection drops unexpectedly;
  • disabling internet access when you manually disconnect from VPN or if the connection drops unexpectedly.

With the first option, the internet is available if you manually disconnect, with the second one, as it indicates, the connection does not work.

So it works as it says. Even when you try to enable those options in the app settings, you get a pop-up warning that there will be no internet access without a VPN connection.

That’s a good solution

I’m using windows, i’ll look into that
