What can I do to stop the ads from this program?

Hey,

I am subscribed to Avast Premium security on a yearly fee. It is a antivirus software that I ahve been happy with. However, during the last 1-2 months this software is almost unuseable because of the constant prompts and quite frankly, spam from the software to tell me to subscribe to Avast cleanup premium, avast secureline VPN, avast antitrack and all the other programs that I am not interested in.

If I scan my computer, I get notified of X alerts and “In orDeR FoR YoU To SOlvE ThiS YoU NEeD To SubSCRibE To OuR OthER SofTWaRe”.

Please, is there a fix that does not include me paying for this?

Thanks.

It’s why people say it’s adware…

I know that you purchased a year of Avast, but I decided to dump them because of their persistent, annoying ads.

I would highly recommend switching to BitDefender Free (it will always be free). BitDefender always ranks high on the annual independent av-comparatives.org AV/Malware comprehensive testing results. You only need to make two minor BitDefender settings changes to eliminate their ads.

After using BitDefender for about 6 months now, I have found BitDefender to be a better and more proactive antivirus than Avast and ESET (my previous two AV packages). I am seeing more genuine warnings than I ever did with Avast or ESET (though it isn’t many).

I couldn’t believe it at first, but it looks like there really is at least one free AntiVirus out there that is actually providing very good protection!

Thank you so very much, I will look into this.

I like Avast. But they start pestering for renewals it seems like right away. Also they like to come out with products that have a good deal of functionality overlap. They like to change the names of things and consolidate and change up the UI. All this in order to feel update now. It’s not a real problem if you renew in the last week.
