Been using Windscribe since 2017, I have 1.2Gbps internet and even using 10Gb Windscribe locations my speeds are abysmal. Under 100Mbps
Same speed as usual here
I also have 1gb internet with 200-300mbps of download. Connected to Windscribe, torrents at most go for 3mbs. Firefox and jDownloader usually 1-3mbps, and steam 20mbps. Speed test always range between 10-30mbps.
I suggest people test their downloads with steam over anything else. Steam takes full advantage of what you have.
- Windscribe is known for being one of the slowest VPNs.
- Speed depends on the country and server you’re connecting to, encryption protocol, time of the day etc.
- Device you’re using to connect can have an impact on the speed.
My personal observations:
Line: 1Gbps(up)/50Mbps(down)
Google Pixel 7 Pro:
- OpenVPN: 1-30 Mbps on all servers
- Wireguard: 20-150 Mbps on all servers
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+
- OpenVPN: 80-200 Mbps on most servers and few servers even reach 250-600 Mbps (also the non 10Gbps ones).
- Wireguard: 20-100 Mbps
Speeds are abysmal doing what, testing how?
I also love how you say abysmal at 100Mbps… the fastest my Internet provider offers is 25Mbps

I’ve never seen or heard of Windscribe’s speeds being anything less than on par, if not better, than many other commercial VPNs. Just wondering where this belief came from?
Torrenting, tested via Google and Ookla speed test as well as torrent clients interface .
fwiw, I can see/get 300+ Mbps per connection, testing from west coast US to Amsterdam egress.
