So basically I noticed that this connection status is on the top left of my desktop. Is there any way to get rid of it?

No idea why you couldn’t post this solution here, BRAD.

Go to Settings> Help> Troubleshooting. After Windows makes sure you want to do this, a second box will pop up. This box has three options. The one we care about is “Restore Original Settings.” Click this button. After Surfshark restarts, you will manually reconnect, set all your settings back the way you want them, and the notification will no longer be there. I killed Surfshark with Task Manager and re-opened it, and it was gone after that. Weird.

Easiest way to fix is to close the window, open up hidden icons and right click the surfshark icon. It should disappear after that

Its not disrupting my connection per se, its just a cosmetic issue that’s a bit annoying.

same issue, I am using adobe program or anything and it blocks the first few tabs, seriously never ever have shit like this ever.

Reviving an old thread.

Most replies are just addressing how to remove it in the moment. It goes away by hovering over the surfshark notification icon in the bottom right (windows).

I am hoping to have it never happen again.

I tried this today - hopefully it works.

This worked. Hope I can remember it for the next time. At first I didn’t even know what App was causing it!

Update - I went on a long and circular journey with surfshark. They just repeatedly told me to uninstall and reinstall so I dread even trying anymore. I still get the notification persisting in the top left of my screen. It’s annoying, though not as annoying as uninstalling and reinstalling an app 7 times for no change and not being able to get any other help.

They’ve known this for YEARS and yet it’s still happening, usually many times a day. So freaking tired of having to hover over the task bar to get rid of that banner. And I’m not going to reinstall it. Isn’t that what updates are for???

So this is why in 23 days when my subscription ends, I’m not going to renew. Surfshark SUCKS.
