Running version 5 with the VPN, and when I turn on the VPN, I’m suddenly seeing a ton of ads everywhere.
I’m running the pihole hardware ad blocker, which has worked incredibly well for a few years now. It has its own DNS server. My non-VPN network connection has its DNS IP changed to the IP of the pihole.
When I load ipconfig/all from the command line, it shows the WireGuard Tunnel connection’s DNS as pointing to the DNS server on the pihole, but the ads continue.
I was in the pihole subreddit asking about this, and the consensus was that all VPNs kill ad blockers, including pihole.
Is it possible to run an ad blocker when the Malwarebytes VPN is running? If so, how?
